At St. Francis Hospital, we strive for Nursing Excellence daily! We seek to not only satisfy our patients, physicians, community and each other, but to exceed expectations at every level, every day. In order to surpass these goals, we have set our standards high in all aspects of nursing at St. Francis. First, we aim to recruit and retain the most successful nursing staff available to our area. And to maintain the high retention rate that we seek, we are taking the steps to increase nurse participation in our decision-making processes. We encourage staff nurses to offer input concerning nursing practice in order to benefit both their units and the hospital as a whole. In addition to increasing nursing participation, we would also like to increase our focus on safety. While St. Francis constantly places emphasis on patient and associate safety, there is always room for improvement and we will not stop until we have reached our goal of zero work-related accidents and on-the-job injuries. Obviously, we are setting higher standards for quality throughout our hospital on our journey to Magnet status!
